Having previously lived in a house with
a bathroom not quite big enough to swing the proverbial feline, the bathroom
in this house seems spacious indeed. There is the usual range of equipment
one might hope to find in a bathroom, including toilet, handbasin, large
bath with wooden panelled surround, separate shower unit with electric
pump installed, shaver points, radiator, ceiling light, and a plain wooden
shelf along the entire length of one wall. The area around and behind
the toilet is also panelled, and the ancient floorboards are of the same
lovely, mellowed tone as can be found throughout this house. There is
a roman blind on the window (plain calico) which we'd be happy to leave
in situ - it's almost brand new and was bought specifically for this window,
and it can be exceptionally annoying to be caught short in your new house
- only to find yourself exposed to the neighbourhood. The window itself
is, of course, a sash window, and this one actually has safety bars on
the outside. All in all, this is a warm and comfortable bathroom. |
