| The main hallway is very long, and a comfortable
width. In common with much of the house, there are beautiful, old, mellowed
floorboards over most of the hallway, as far as the kitchen. From the front
door, the hallway leads first to the sitting room, then to the main stairway,
next to the kitchen and lastly, to a secondary hallway (dimensions included
in above measurement) and through to the sun room, up a couple of steps
and through an old, stripped pine door. The secondary hallway (which we
use as a hide-away for shoes and coats, body boards and scooters) has a
concrete floor, and the bit of floor between the kitchen and the secondary
hallway is quarry tiled. There are lights at both ends of the hallway, with
a softer, uplighter in the middle, and an extremely effective radiator. |
